A jackknifed big rig truck near LA reportedly closed down eastbound freeway 118 into Granada. Reported at around 9 am on Tuesday, it was said that the truck jackknifed in the middle of the freeway, spilling oil across the lanes. Lanes were blocked, and the highway eventually closed while crews pursued to cleanup the spill and resume traffic. At 11 am, two lanes reopened, the rest remaining closed for another half hour.So far, fortunately no injuries have been reported as a result of the Los Angeles big rig truck accident.

A fire in Sunland, an area near downtown Los Angeles, required the assistance of the local fire departments in extinguishing the flames. Firefighters were present at the site for up to two hours before completing the job. Up to 170 firefighters were taken to the area midday on Tuesday, at around 11:30. Luckily, no significant injuries or damages resulted from the fire. However, the fire remains under investigation.

A twisting road with only two lanes could have come into play in a crash that took place in the San Bernardino County mountains on Sunday. A woman identified as Crystal Noreen Salinas, 23, was killed in the accident. Local authorities stated that Salinas was in a Dodge Charger driven by someone else, on Swarthout Canyon Road on Saturday afternoon. The driver, who is also 23, was attempting to pass another vehicle on the road but crashed into another car, a Suburban, in a head-on collision. The driver was also injured, though not fatally, as well as family in the Suburban, who suffered minor injuries.

An accident that occurred near the Los Angeles Carson city boundary killed one person, also leaving another injured. The suspect in a drunk driving accident that occurred on Saturday is now in line be arraigned on Tuesday. The 20-year-old, who may have been driving drunk, was involved in the Saturday accident that killed one bicyclist and injured two others. His arraignment is scheduled for today in San Fernando Superior Court, according to a spokeswoman from Los Angeles district attorney.
Marco Antonio Valencia’s involvement in the accident that killed 43-year-old Joe Novothy and injured two others has been deemed a DUI case. According to a witness, Valencia appeared to be driving recklessly and eventually swerved into the aforementioned group of bicyclists, also forcing other vehicles to swerve and evade a possible collision. It has been reported that the bicyclists were all members of the local Santa Clarita cycling club.

In a car accident that occurred in Southern California, one man was killed while driving a passenger vehicle on Highway 46 Thursday morning. The fatal Los Angeles accident involved a passenger vehicle and a truck. The man killed in the accident has been identified as Thomas William Corell, aged 5, of Playa Vista near Los Angeles. According to reports from California Highway Patrol, Corell was headed westbound on Highway 46 when, for reasons unknown, his vehicle, a Volvo 550I, drifted into the opposing lanes. Corell’s vehicle landed in front of a tractor-trailer, causing the head-on car accident and Corell’s immediate death.
Mladen Kmpotic, identified as 45-year-old truck driver of Ontario, Canada, sustained minor injuries in the Los Angeles accident.

A multi-car accident on a freeway in San Fernando Valley is reported to have injured seven, five of which were injured seriously. According to Los Angeles Fire Department, the accident included up to six cars on Independence Day morning. The car accident occurred between Interstate 405 and Highway 101, where a car is reported to have overturned, trapping one individual. The woman killed in a car accident on I-15 has now been identified as Brenda Lisette Chavez. Chavez was involved in an accident on Monday, where she was a passenger in a 2005 Ford Fusion. During the car accident, the driver overturned the car, killing its passenger, Chavez. The 2:15 Monday afternoon accident occurred south of Bailey Toad in Mountain Pass.
