Winchester Accident Traps and Injures 3

An accident in Winchester, California led to the injury of three people in one of the cars that was involved. All three were transported to a local hospital with injuries described as moderate.

In the accident, two vehicles driving on Route 79 crashed into each other, at around 9:39 a.m. on Friday morning. California Highway Patrol reported to the crash, finding three people caught in one of the vehicles.

One of the vehicles had been thrown over the side of an embankment from the impact of the crash, causing the three occupants to be trapped within. Firefighters extricated the three occupants and took them to a hospital, authorities said.

Possible Injuries In Plane Crash At Los Angeles Golf Course

A small plane flying over Los Angeles crashed into an expanse of land on a golf course in Venice on Thursday night, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. At around 6:00 p.m., the plane crashed down somewhere near the 8th hole of the golf course, a facility called Penmar Golf Course. One person was being checked by paramedics for possible injuries in the plane crash, but no final determination was provided.

Apart from the person being checked by paramedics, no reports were made of whether or not others were injured. The crash will be investigated further by Los Angeles authorities.

Los Angeles Office Blast Accident Injures Three

An office in the Greater Los Angeles area blew up on Thursday morning, calling firefighters and emergency medical to the building. The Los Angeles office blast caused up to three injuries, one of which was fatal.

Responding to the call, firefighters entered the office building, which is located just west of Los Angeles, to find the body of the one fatally injured person. By that time, the office blast had already collapsed the building significantly. The property damage included a hole in the building’s roof.

The blasted building was occupied by a couple businesses – Realm Industries, a company that does alternative fuel testing, and ServPro, a contracting agency. As many as ten people were in the building when the blast happened. All businesses within half a mile of the building were also evacuated as a precaution,

The cause of the office accident has not been released.

Accident Injures Motorcycle Patrol Officer On Newhall Avenue

An accident between a patrol motorcycle and a pickup truck has left one Los Angeles County motorcycle deputy hospitalized with minor injuries, his bike damaged terribly. The motorcycle accident, which took place on Friday afternoon around 3:20, involved a pickup truck that came onto the head of the motorcycle as it progressed into Newhall Avenue. On impact, the deputy flew from the motorcycle into the air and back onto the road. Paramedics arrived at the scene, rushing the deputy to a nearby hospital with what were later found to be only minor injuries. Reports from witnesses said that the pickup truck may have ran a red light when the motorcycle came into the road.

Following the accident, the scene was blocked off shortly as officials attempted to investigate the crash, and its cause. Detours were made for commuters in the meantime. The deputy’s motorcycle lay on the ground, badly mangled.

Los Angeles County Truck Accident Knocks Out Northridge Area Power Temporarily

In Northridge, a truck that hit a power pole has knocked out the electrical service to more than 5,000 in the area. On Monday morning, roundabout 6:45 am, the truck was reported to have hit the power pole situated at the 8700 block of Canby.

When the truck accident took place, lines fell to the floor on the road, causing the electrical problems throughout the area. Also affected by the accident were several traffic signals in the vicinity of the downed power pole.

After fire officials were notified, the Los Angeles Water and Power officials were notified also, and were able to take repairs to the incident within hours. Fortunately, no injuries took place as a result of the accident.

Two Injured in Santa Ana Collision

Two men were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries when their two vehicles collided near the I-5 freeway on-ramp at Main Street in Santa Ana. The accident was reported just before noon, and investigation revealed that a motorcyclist was making a left turn to go onto the I-5 southbound freeway when he was struck by an orange Volkswagen GTI traveling northbound in the second lane of Main Street. According to Santa Ana Police Commander Stephen Colon, the motorcyclist and driver were both taken to the hospital to be treated for non-serious injuries.

Police Suspect Drunk Driving In Accident That Injured Infant Siblings

A baby girl only 2 months of age has died of injuries caused by a hit-and-run driver in an accident on Friday. The girl, who’s older brother was also involved in the accident, was pronounced dead at the scene in Long Beach. According to reports, a man was pulling the two children across the street in a wagon on Friday night, at around 8:15 pm. While in the street, an SUV driving on the road crashed into the wagon that contained the two kids and continued driving, dragging along the wagon and kids with him for hundreds of yards. The girl’s injuries ended fatal and the boy, aged 2 or 3, was also injured and was taken to a hospital in critical condition. The driver was located and arrested, and authorities have also mentioned that he may have been drunk driving during the accident.

Elderly Couple Suffers Injuries In Long Beach Car Accident

A Long Beach car accident yesterday left an elderly couple with injuries. The car was traveling northbound on Bellflower Blvd, just south of Wardlow Road, when it swerved across the road, driving into a tree. Upon impact, the car flipped, landing on its roof, as the tree fell into the highway. The man and woman of their 70s were then left trapped within the car. Firefighters arrived at the scene promptly, forcing open the doors of the car to free the couple, who were injured. According to reports, the male suffered moderate injuries while the woman reported mild distress from the car accident. Police in the area said they were still unsure of what caused the accident.

Two Los Angeles Firefighters Injured While Battling Fire

A duo of firefighters in Los Angeles were injured during the process of extinguishing a fire near the Los Angeles County line. The fire was reportedly a small brush fire, located in Bell Canyon just outside LA county. Firefighters from the Los Angeles fire departments responded to the fire at around 2pm, extinguishing it within  2 hours. A total of five helicopters and 20 engine companies arrived at the 8 acre fire. While battling the blaze, the firefighters both sustained minor injuries. The first of the two suffered heat exhaustion and another firefighter received treatment for unknown injuries from on-scene paramedics. A spokesman for Los Angeles Fire Department, Devin Gales, reported that no homes were dangered during the fire. The resulting injuries sustained by firefighters were the only issues that arose resulting from the fire.

Ten-year-old boy killed in LA accident

A ten-year-old boy, Ricardo Mercado, was killed after being struck by an SUV in Los Angeles, on the morning of August 22, 2009. While walking across Tweedy Boulevard in South Gate with his family, a woman whose name has not yet been release made a left turn onto Tweedy and struck the family with her Volkswagen SUV. Witnesses told the police that the driver of the Volkswagen had been using a cell phone before the accident happened. Ricardo is survived by his family members, including his mother, Ana, and his two sisters, Anita, 12, and Leticia, 6.

The South Gate police say that there was little or no indication that the driver made any attempt to stop her vehicle before the accident. Her speed at the time of the accident was not clear. Mrs. Mercado and her daughters Anita and Leticia were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
