Three interrelated accidents that took place one after another on San Diego Freeway 405 in Los Angeles County are suspected to have involved drunk driving, authorities have reported. In total, seven people were injured – three critically. Two unnamed drivers were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI).
At about 3 a.m. on Sunday, the drunk driver of a minivan hit the median of the Freeway, impacting the divider and then coming to a stop. A second driver, also reported drunk, crashed into the minivan as the driver and passengers were emptying from the vehicle. One person was thrown into a carpool lane from the crash’s impact.
Behind the crash, a third driver then crashed into a car that had slowed in light of the accident. Authorities believe this driver was also drunk.
The fire department dispatched units to the scene of the drunk driving accidents at around 3:11 a.m. Three of the injured were taken to the UCLA medical center in critical condition.

A drunk driving car accident in Industry, a suburb of Los Angeles County, claimed one life and seriously injured 5 others when 4 cars collided on Tuesday night. Authorities reported that several of the victims were trapped in their vehicles until emergency personnel arrived.
Approximately 7 p.m. on Tuesday was when the accident took place. A vehicle, a Jeep Cherokee, was driving erratically at 65 mph and crossed over the median. 20-year-old Reyes Miranda pleaded not guilty in the death of a teen aged passenger who died in a Nov 8th car accident after the Mustang he was driving went off road. Police allege that the Miranda was driving under the influence when he went off East Vista Road near Mason, crashed through a bus shelter and rolled over. Miranda was charged with vehicular manslaughter of 17-year-old Gerardo Chacon who was thrown from the car upon impact and killed. The suspect registered a blood alcohol content of .08 percent and could get up to six years in prison.

A baby girl only 2 months of age has died of injuries caused by a hit-and-run driver in an accident on Friday. The girl, who’s older brother was also involved in the accident, was pronounced dead at the scene in Long Beach. According to reports, a man was pulling the two children across the street in a wagon on Friday night, at around 8:15 pm. While in the street, an SUV driving on the road crashed into the wagon that contained the two kids and continued driving, dragging along the wagon and kids with him for hundreds of yards. The girl’s injuries ended fatal and the boy, aged 2 or 3, was also injured and was taken to a hospital in critical condition. A 22-year-old woman involved in an accident on Interstate 15 yesterday was also arrested on suspicion of DUI, authorities said. When the accident occurred yesterday, the young woman is reported have made an unsafe lane change, resulting in a collision with another vehicle. Due to her condition, the woman is thought to have made the lane change without noticing the position of the approaching vehicle. She hit the SUV, causing a rollover to occur. In the process, another vehicle was also hit. CHP reported that two occupants from the SUV, both from Escondido, were taken to Saint Mary Medical Center with substantial injuries. The young woman was then taken in on charges of felony DUI.

A man suspected be drunk driving early Monday morning has been arrested, after causing an accident where his vehicle flipped on the highway, authorities reported. The man, identified as Jashdeep Gill, was reportedly in the fast lane of Highway 118 when, as an apparent result of driving drunk, he lost control of his vehicle. The accident occurred westbound past Rocky Peak Fire road, ay about 2:05 am on Monday morning. After losing control, Gill struck the center divider of the highway, resulting in the rollover of his vehicle. When the car finally stopped, it was situated on its roof in a position perpendicular to the roadway.
About 2 minutes past the accident, Gill exited his vehicle and walked away. At this point, another driver, Michael Cerniglia of Camarillo, crashed into Gill’s vehicle as he progressed west on the highway. Due to the early morning darkness, Cerneglia said he couldn’t see Gill’s vehicle lying on the highway. Cerneglia was taken to a hospital with injuries to the head, in the form of a cut.

Two woman of Whittier were the victims of fatal injuries in a hit and run accident this past weekend. The woman, namely a teacher at a local school, Toni Web, were mourned on July 15 following the accident that killed the two women the prior weekend. A car accident this morning resulted in the death of one woman, in an accident that is suspected to be the result of drunk driving. The suspect in a drunk driving accident that occurred on Saturday is now in line be arraigned on Tuesday. The 20-year-old, who may have been driving drunk, was involved in the Saturday accident that killed one bicyclist and injured two others. Two women were killed alongside four others injured in a possible drunk driving accident on Interstate 10 just east of Indio. According to California Highway Patrol officers, the rollover accident that occured on Sunday night involved Steven Samuel Chavez, a 23 year old of West Covina, who hit a 2000 Dodge Pickup while driving at high speeds in a 2000 Toyota Sedan.
