Death and Injuries Result From Los Angeles Accident

An accident in downtown LA this morning is reported to have killed one person, also injuring three others, two passengers and a pedestrian. The driver, who died in the car accident, is believed to have been drunk when he crashed his car into a parked vehicle and utility pole, according to Los Angeles Police. A 33 year old man of El Monte, Ricardo Avila Tamayo was driving the Ford Explorer northbound on Santa Fe when he crashed into the vehicle and pole, for reasons still being investigated. Both the front-seat and back-seat passengers of the SUV were hospitalized in severe condition, and Avila Tamayo was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Another person, a pedestrian on the road at the time of the accident, suffered injuries as a result of the crash as well. Los Angeles Police Department Officer Rocio Gomez reported that the SUV was speeding in what was probably a drunk driving accident, as was confirmed by passengers interviewed later. In addition to the death and injuries, the crash also caused damage to electrical wiring in the Los Angeles area.

One Killed In Overturned Truck Crash In Fullerton

The overturned truck crash that shut down Freeway 57 in Fullerton on July 23 also killed one person. The truck crash, involving a big rig and a much smaller car, occurred at 7 pm near Chapman and Cal State of Fullerton. The big rig truck was traveling south bound on 57 when it collided with car, then bouncing into the adjacent lanes until it struck the divider, where it finally stopped but ignited into flames. The driver of the big rig truck was pronounced dead on the scene of the accident, which also hospitalized four others with injuries. Following the crash, traffic was detoured as the accident was handled by authorities. The cause of the crash remains unknown.

1-Year-Old Boy Injured In Single Vehicle Accident

A single vehicle accident on highway 101 left a 1-year-old boy seriously injured. The early morning accident, which occurred at 12:01 am in Carpinteria, was the result of the driver, Jose Rosales of Long Beach, falling asleep at the wheel of the vehicle. The vehicle drifted into the shoulder of the road, alerting Rosales who attempted to steer back into the road but lost control. The vehicle then skidded off the highway, flipping over onto its roof after hitting a traffic sign.

The 1-year-old seated in a child seat was the only severely injured victim of the accident, as each of the remaining 4 occupants were fastened in seatbelts when the accident occurred. The other occupants, a 2-year-old, 35-year-old and 37-year-old parents, and Rosales, each suffered minor injuries during the accident, according to officials.  The five occupants, all family members, were escorted to a Santa Barbara hospital for treatment of their injuries. The highway closed for a short period as investigation of the rollover accident took place.

Prescription Medicine May Have Caused Car Accident

A car accident occured  I-405 at Springdale St Thursday morning, where a minivan appeared to lose control, resulting in a spinout crash on the freeway. Authorities are investigating the cause of the car accident, which could have been prescription medicine. Though no other vehicles were involved, the minivan hit a tree on the right side of the freeway.

Police are suspect whether or not prescription medicine may have been involved in the accident. The driver did not suffer any direct boldily injuries, but the driver was hurt and required medical treatment.

According to California Highway Patrol ,the driver of the vehicle was initially unresponsive when rescued from the car accident. When authorities warrived on the scene, the driver was transporyed to Long Beacj Memorial Hospital for treatment. The driver was accompanied by ablood technician following the accident, which opens the possibiltiy that the driver may have been impaired in some way.

Crash leaves man in critical condition

A car accident that occurred on Sunday night has left a Palos Veredes man in critical condition in a local hospital, where he was still being treated up until this morning. The car accident, which took place at around 3:14pm, involved the 2006 Ford Mustang of the injured man and a 2008 Volkswagen Golf near the intersection of Skypark Drive and Garnier Street in Torrance.

The driver of the Volkswagen did not sustain any injuries, but both the passenger and driver of the Mustang reportedly suffered injuries following the car accident. The passenger of the Mustang was transported to Torrance Memorial for treatment of minor injuries, and 18-year-old driver was taken to Harbor UCLA Medical Center, where he remains. Police suspect that one of the drivers may have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the car accident.

Hit and Run Car Accident in Lynwood Leaves Driver Dead

 At around 1 AM this June 7th morning, the driver of a minivan sped through a Lynwood intersection, colliding with a Honda in a fatal hit and run car accident. Upon impact, the driver of the Honda suffered injury which led to a later death, as the car split into two. Following the hit and run car accident, which occurred at the intersection of Martin Luther King Boulevard and Atlantic Avenue, the driver of the minivan fled without consulting with officials or the injured driver. According to officials, the only clear-cut evidence is that the minivan tore through the Honda. The unidentified driver of the Honda was rushed to the hospital for  injury treatment, but died later.
