Plane Crashes With Cars On SoCal Freeway

A plane and 3 cars collided in an unusual accident in Southern California on Sunday. When the plane ran out of fuel, its pilot was forced to make an emergency landing — onto Highway 101, where naturally, many unsuspecting vehicles were driving. The plane, a Piper PA-24 Comanche, was headed to Santa Barbara Airport when reports were made regarding its lack of fuel. At around 10:30, the plane hit down on southbound Highway 101, just a mile short of the airport. According to the pilot, Kris Sean Michael, he attempted to land in a way that was safe with the traffic, but was unable to do so.

The plane touched down atop of the traffic, hitting three vehicles separately. The first vehicle, a Chevy Suburban, was hit by the tail of the plane whilst the plane remained in the air, as the pilot attempted to make a safe landing. When the plane had landed, it continued into a Honda Accord just before it came to a rest, at which point a Volkswagen hit the already stopped plane. Fortunately, of the 9 people involved in the plane crash and car accident, none were injured.
