Hit and Run Boating Accident in Lake Havasu Kills One

On Saturday afternoon at Lake Havasu, a hit and run boating accident took the life of one man from Orange County. The victim of the boating accident, 30-year-old Eric Norris, was tubing in the lake behind a boat when he fell into the water. Floating  near the point of his fall, waiting to be picked up, Norris was struck by another boat passing by.

The boat continued moving after striking and killing Norris, not stopping to check if he was hurt or in need of help.  This action by the boat’s driver qualifies this boating accident as a hit and run, which is an accident in which a driver leaves the scene without properly consulting with the other parties involved.

Authorities say they are still looking for the boat driver who committed the hit and run. Any information relevant to the case should be sent to the San Bernardino county police.

Woman Dies In Airboat Crash

A woman in West Palm Beach died Saturday from injuries she received in an airboat crash. The accident occurred in Indian River County on Blue Cypress Lake, where the woman, identified as Callie E McKenzie, was riding on an airboat that crashed with another airboat. McKenzie’s accident seems to have resulted from the fact that both boats were occupying space in the same narrow channel of the lake. Like many other boating accidents, this boating crash was another incident of the wrong place at the wrong time. Paramedics responded to the accident at around 7:15, arriving near the Lake Garcia boat ramp to access the site of the accident. Unfortunately, McKenzie died after the accident, and her boyfriend, Sean Murphy, was taken to a local hospital with undescribed injuries.
