Los Angeles Auto Shop Fire Kills Two, Causes Burn Injuries to Two

An auto shop in Los Angeles on Monday was the site of a terrible fire that burned across the building’s entire structure, killing 2 people. The auto shop fire also injured another two, who are in the hospital with critical burn injuries.

The Los Angeles Fire Department received reports of the fire sometime on Monday morning, dispatching vehicles to the building. They arrived to find flames and smoke emerging from the building. To extinguish the fire, the department enlisted the support of as many as 124 firefighters, who took around an hour to douse the fire.

The results of the auto shop fire included property damage, injuries, and deaths. Two bodies were found when the fire department entered the building, and two others were taken to the hospital with serious burn injuries. The building and several vehicles outside were also left with visible fire damage.

According to reports, no cause of the fire has yet been determined. The building was rented to more than one auto shop, and also may been used as a residence by several people, who may have been trespassers.

Los Angeles Office Blast Accident Injures Three

An office in the Greater Los Angeles area blew up on Thursday morning, calling firefighters and emergency medical to the building. The Los Angeles office blast caused up to three injuries, one of which was fatal.

Responding to the call, firefighters entered the office building, which is located just west of Los Angeles, to find the body of the one fatally injured person. By that time, the office blast had already collapsed the building significantly. The property damage included a hole in the building’s roof.

The blasted building was occupied by a couple businesses – Realm Industries, a company that does alternative fuel testing, and ServPro, a contracting agency. As many as ten people were in the building when the blast happened. All businesses within half a mile of the building were also evacuated as a precaution,

The cause of the office accident has not been released.

Firefighters Injured On Duty Fighting Fire In San Gabriel Mountains

Up to 202 Los Angeles fire department workers reported to the scene of a wildfire in the San Gabriel mountains, under the direction of fire assistant chief Jeffrey S. Mottram, according to reports. The firefighters arrived at the mountains as the wildfire ensued, with as many as three acres of land already burning. This San Gabriel Mountains fire could be attributed to a high index of heat without much wind that was present in the area.

Firefighters took the top line of attack, beginning with fire and rescue helicopters that dropped water across the area to extinguish the fire. The water-dropping helicopter worked across the low side of the mountain and through the Tujunga Wash. Within just under two hours, the fire department had nearly finalized their efforts, containing the fire to less than twenty acres, away from houses that could have been threatened by the fire.

During the course of the fire, five firefighters suffered injuries, none of which were life-threatening. Tow of them, from the Los Angeles fire department, sustained minor injuries to the lower body, while three others from the Hand Crew took on various other injuries. Each of the injured were transported to local hospitals for treatment.

Condominium Fire Places Two Into Hospital

A fire that burned through a section of a condominium in Thousand Oaks sent two people to the hospital yesterday. It was at the 1600 block of Calle Zadiro where the fire took place, at around 1:13 pm in the afternoon, starting in an upstairs residence of the two-story apartment. After being reported, sixteen unites responded to battle the fire. According to reports, the fire resulted from workers who were cutting copper pipes in the building. Evidently, the sparks that occur during this procedure ignited and grew into the condo fire.

The fire sent smoke throughout the building, and through nearby residences as well. As a result, two people were sent to the hospital with injuries from smoke inhalation. Neither of those injured were firefighters.

LAFD Battles Blaze At Strip Mall in West Los Angeles

Los Angeles Fire Department officials responded to a call on Santa Monica Boulevard in West Los Angeles, where a strip mall of business had just sparked ablaze. When the firefighters reached the incident, heavy smoke was rising from the two story building. The department then utilized force to enter, but flames had already extended across a substantial portion of the building. Fortunately, the firefighters were able to battle the fire to its origin, extinguishing it completely after 53 minutes.

Firefighters also evacuated two people in a building that could have been threatened by the flames. The cause of the fire remains unknown, but is undergoing investigation. Clearly, there was also some substantial property damage resulting from the strip mall fire.

One Dead, Another Badly Burned After Fullerton Fire

Two woman suffered burn injuries Wednesday night, one ending fatal, at a home in Fullerton where a fire took place. A fire erupted at approximately 7:25 pm on Victoria drive. Firefighters responded to the Fullerton fire, and were at it it for almost an hour before successfully extinguishing it. Authorities reported that, when firefighters reached the home, the debris that covered the home hindered their efforts. One woman died while the other was taken to the hospital with significant burn injuries. The fire in Fullerton remains under investigation by authorities.

A man in Los Angeles fought a fire at an adjacent home using his own garden hose on Friday. Before 8 am, firefighters were alerted of an an ongoing fire on Coney Coad, just north of Cal State Los Angeles. Before firefighters arrived, the man, who lived next door to the blazing home, had already begun his own efforts in fighting the fire. Two Injured Firefighters After Glendale House Fire

After responding to a late night fire in Glendale, two firefighters have been hospitalized with substantial injuries. When the fire sparked up in a local two-story house, firefighters from Burbank and Glendale departments reported to the scene, at around 10:12 pm on Monday. The fire continued for as many as 30 minutes, with 36 firefighters battling the fire throughout.

The first injured firefighter received third degree burn injuries, and the other suffered from smoke inhalation. A lightning storm that occurred during the weekend displaced a group of more than 30 residents in Redding. As the storm progressed, wildfires began to ignite across Northern California. The naturally-caused incident threatened 100 structures when the fire began to spread through Shasta County, requiring in excess of 600 firefighters to battle the flames. Pasadena firefighters yesterday evening handled a fire that raged through brush in the area of Rosemont and Washington. The brush fire ignited at around 6:22 in the evening, first only in brush but soon threatening homes close by. When the Pasadena fire was reported, Firefighters arrived at the scene within 30 minutes, according to reports. With six engines from the fire department, the fire was handled in merely 30 minutes of their arrival. Fortunately, no significant property damage or injuries were reported.
