Pregnant Woman Killed in Hit and Run Gardena Bicycle Accident

A pregnant woman was killed on Friday after being hit on her bicycle by an unidentified vehicle that fled the scene after the accident. Police are requesting the help of anyone who may have information about the identity or whereabouts of the driver that struck and killed the 31-year-old pregnant woman.

Jennifer Costlow was riding her bicycle southbound on Normandie in Gardena, shortly before midnight, when a driver struck her in the back with a dark, two-door car. The driver did not stop, driving past the woman and then turning onto 166th street. Costlow was taken to a hospital, but tragically she died within only two hours.

Costlow’s boyfriend was riding his bicycle with her, but was not injured in the bicycle accident.

Los Angeles Accident Kills One on Sunday

A Los Angeles accident involving two vehicles has resulted in one death, says authorities. The man who died, aged between 30 and 35, has now been identified as Brandon David Brown.

The accident took place on San Diego Freeway 405 on Sunday when, reportedly, Brown drove his Toyota Tercel into the rear of an unidentified dark-colored SUV. After the accident, the SUV fled the scene before authorities got there , witnesses say.

When help arrived, Brown was declared dead at the scene of the accident. Brown was the sole occupant of his vehicle.

Although the SUV may not have caused the accident, its leaving the scene without consulting with the other driver or providing contact information may make this accident a hit and run. Los Angeles police are currently looking for the SUV. The exact cause of the car accident is still unknown.

Two people were injured in a hit-and-run accident that turned into a multiple vehicle collision this afternoon. The crash happened around 12:121 p.m. in the northbound lane of I-5 Freeway just north of Alicia parkway. One of the victims of the crash had been riding a blue Dodge Stealth which was rear ended by another vehicle after which it crashed into a blue Dodge Charger. The charger then struck a silver Honda SUV. The driver that caused the accident fled the scene leaving behind the two accident victims. If found, the motorist could face felony charges.

2 Children Critically Injured, 3 Men Arrested In LA Hit and Run

An accident involving a speeding, stolen vehicle left 2 children in critical condition today, an apparent result of the actions of three Carson men who are now in custody. The accident took place in Bellflower within the jurisdiction of Los Angeles County police.

David Mendoza, Felix Alvarez, and Ivan Maganya, all males aged 19 to 20, reportedly stole a sport utility vehicle from a location in Torrance. At a sobriety checkpoint the driver of the SUV would not stop as required, continuing through, at around 12.25 am. Proceeding on Artesia in Long Beach, the SUV crashed intoa first vehicle, which slammed into another – a three car collision.

Within one of the cars at the time of the crash sat two children, cousins aged 6 and 10 from Los Angeles and Paramount, respectively. Both children were later taken to a nearby hospital, both critically injured from the crash. The car also included the children’s grandparents; however they escaped the crash uninjured.

Three Carson men, the ones mentioned above, were pursued and captured by police and face several possible charges for the accident, including hit and run.

Hit and Run in Santa Ana Leaves One Injured

An early morning two-vehicle accident in Santa Ana left one motorist injured as the other auto driver fled the scene. The accident transpired Friday morning around 7 a.m. at the intersection of Bear Street and Segestrom Avenues. Eyewitnesses indicated that a silver Dodge minivan was traveling northbound on Bear when it collided with a white Oldsmobile that was traveling eastbound on Segestrom. The minivan rolled over on its side trapping a 59-year-old man and a 17-year-old passenger inside. The Oldsmobile driver leapt out of his car and fled on foot. Firefighters and paramedics were able to eventually rescue the minivan occupants. The 59-year-old complained of pain and was immediately taken to a local area hospital; the teenager was unhurt.

Authorities report that it was unclear who was at fault for the collision and that the investigation is ongoing. Bear, Segestrom, Raitt Street and Alton Avenue were all closed for clean up and assessment.

An accident in Santa Ana resulted in an injury today after a felony hit and run transpired. The incident occurred in the northbound carpool lane on freeway 405 after a green Jeep crashed into the center divider. Suspected Drunk Driver Hits Police Officer

A police officer was injured in Chula Vista Thursday Morning after being it by a suspected drunk driver. The collision occurred on Fourth Avenue near D Street at approximately 12:25 a.m. and happened shortly after the officer placed an apprehended parolee into the backseat of his car.

The vehicle that hit the patrolman was heading south when it drifted into his path and struck him. The officer’s left foot was run over and the right passenger mirror hit him in the back. In Santa Ana today, a Fountain Valley man went on trial for the January 2008 vehicular manslaughter of 44-year-old Richard Lauvao. The fateful accident occurred when defendant Kenny Mihn Phan ran a red light and crashed into the accident victim’s car at the intersection of Euclid Street and Westminster Avenue on the Santa Ana-Garden Grove border. Phan then got out of his cHonda Accord and fled but was later traced by DNA evidence left at the scene.

Hit And Run Driver Turns Himself In

The hit-and-run related death of a 64-year-old woman prompted one of her assailants to step forward. The tragedy occurred at around 8 p.m. evening at the corner of South Normandie and West 106^th street on a Sunday. According to witnesses, the driver of a Chevy Tahoe and another car were speed racing through the area when the Tahoe crashed into a 1996 Saturn, killing the female driver on impact. The Tahoe was headed northbound and the Saturn driver southbound on Normandie when the two collided.

The SUV burst into flames and onlookers rushed to pull the trapped SUV driver out of the car. After his clothing was extinguished, the man fled the scene. The SUV driver, now identified as 40-year-old Willie ray Shavers Jr., came into the Culver City police department at 10:45 a.m. this morning saying he was responsible for the crash. He is being treated for accident related injuries and will be going to jail following treatment and charged with felony hit-and-run and vehicular homicide with negligence.
