Man Killed by Metro City Bus in Venice Beach

A Metro bus struck and killed a 30-year-old man in Venice on Monday.  This tragic incident took place on Pacific Avenue and Santa Monica Avenue.  Reports indicate that the man was trying to cross the street when the Metro bus struck and dragged him over 700 feet.

The Metro bus was traveling west on Rose Avenue and apparently didn’t see the unidentified man just before making a right-hand turn.  The man was killed instantly and pronounced dead at the scene.  No passengers were on the Metro bus, and the driver was uninjured.

Riverside Tour Bus Crash Leaves 28 Injured; 8 in Critical Condition

Yesterday, around 5p.m., a tour bus carrying 28 passengers crashed on the Interstate 215 injuring all passengers onboard.  8 of the passengers were critically injured.  The Tour Bus was traveling back from San Diego and crashed near Nuevo Rd.

Inland Empire Stages Ltd., is the company that operates and owns the tour bus.  It is not clear as to why the tour bus left the freeway and crashed into the divider, but an investigation is currently underway by the California Highway Patrol.

Charter Bus Crash Near Hoover Dam Kills 6; More than 20 Seriously Injured

A tour bus crash near Hoover Dam, on highway 93, resulted in at least 6 fatalities with over 20 of the passengers injured. Victims of this charter bus crash were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment of various injuries.

The severity of the injuries vary and several patients were transported via helicopter to University Medical Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

UPDATE: DASH Bus Crosswalk Crash in Los Angeles

In an update to our previous report on the fatal DASH bus crash in Los Angeles, the LAPD has released a statement indicating that the victim, 58-year old Gwendolyn Coleman of Burbank had the right-of-way to cross the street. The DASH bus driver failed to pay appropriate attention and stuck Coleman in a tragic and fatal pedestrian crash.

Bus Strikes and Kills Pedestrian in Los Angeles

In a horrific accident in Downtown Los Angeles, a DASH bus struck and killed Gwendolyn Coleman, a 58-year-old woman on Wednesday morning.

The LAPD is currently investigating this crash, but has indicated that Coleman was in the crosswalk when the impact occurred.
It was approximately 6:30am at the intersection of 5th and Flower when the DASH bus crash occurred. DASH is the bus service operated by the City of Los Angeles.

Reports now indicate that the driver of the DASH bus has been suspended until the investigation has been completed.

Los Angeles School Bus Crash Leaves 1 Dead; Passenger Injured

Last Friday, a School Bus carrying no passengers was involved in a fatal accident in Los Angeles. The school bus was not carrying any passengers. The school bus crash occurred between Slauson Avenue and Avalon Boulevard at 6:30am. The school bus collided with a passenger vehicle killing the driver instantly and injuring one passenger. The school bus driver was not injured. The police department has still not determined the cause of the accident and an investigation is ongoing.

Tour Bus Crash in Texas; At Least 13 Dead. Vietnamese Martyrs Church

A charter tour bus taking a Vietnamese church group, the Vietnamese Martyrs Church of Houston from Houston to Carthage, Missouri crashed on highway 75 after leaving the highway and going off of a bridge.

The bus was carrying 55 people. 13 people were pronounced dead early Friday morning and 48 were taken to local hospitals to be treated for various levels of injuries. At least five more passengers were hospitalized and in critical condition pending surgery.

Police have reported that the cause of this bus crash may be a tire blowout. Weather and other road conditions are currently being investigated. The driver of the bus is alive and is able to communicate with authorities.

Five years ago, 10 people were killed less than a mile away from this bus accident when a trucker crossed the median.

Charter Bus Accident Culver City to Laughlin – Royal American

On Sunday a charter bus accident ended with one fatality while 21 other passengers were seriously injured. The charter bus, which was operated by a Glendale based company, Royal American, was on its way to a Laughlin, Nevada casino when the driver unexplainably crashed into the center median on Highway 40. The woman who was killed was identified as Faith Creer from Los Angeles. She was only 31-years-old and died at the scene of the accident.

School Bus Hit-And-Run Leaves One Dead in Westlake

This morning around 8am, a large yellow school bus struck and killed a woman who was walking through a crosswalk in Westlake, California just north of Los Angeles. Police are investigating the accident and believe that the driver had just dropped off its passengers at an Earth Day event nearby.

Foothill Transit Bus Accident – One Critically Injured

A Foothill Transit bus collided with several vehicles on Monday, injuring six people — one critically.

The accident happened in the carpool and bus lane of the westbound San Bernardino 10 Freeway where it connects with the Hollywood 101 Freeway, near downtown Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Fire Department announced.

The Foothill Transit bus is confirmed to be a part of the MTA Fleet of buses.
