Two medical helicopters crashed in mid-air on Sunday killing at least six, including the patient aboard one of the copters. The Federal Aviation Administration indicates that the crash occurred at 3:45 pm and was on the scene investigation the crash within hours. The National Transportation Safety Board is expected to arrive on Monday to lead the investigation. In addition to the mid-air crash, the collision resulted in a forest fire of at least 10-acres. Another two rescue workers were killed on the ground after another explosion as a result of the crash. Air Methods Corporation, a medical service provider was the owner and operator of the Bell 407 helicopter and Classic Helicopter Service of Utah was the owner and operator of the other Bell 407 helicopter. Four surviving victims of the crash were aboard the Classic Helicopter Service helicopter.

Earlier this morning a single-engine plane crashed near Largo Vista Road in Palmdale, California. Investigators have arrived on the scene and police indicated that the cause of the crash is unknown at this time.

Yesterday, a woman riding a Harley Davidson died on the San Bernardino 10 Freeway when she was struck by a large tractor trailer truck.
Sharon Woodcock, 51, from Long Beach, was riding eastbound on the 10 Freeway near the northbound 215 interchange when she was struck by the tractor- trailer. Police and Paramedics arrived on the scene and Woodcock was pronounced her dead at the scene.

On Saturday afternoon, a freight truck struck four cars on Highway 12, killing one man. The truck accident took place between the cities of Stockton and Sacramento in California. The big-rig driver, Edwin Soper was heading westbound near Terminous when his truck struck four other cars that were stopped for a draw bridge. Soper, a freight truck driver did not slow down for the Delta, and the CHP is reporting that he was driving 55 mph at the time he noticed the stopped traffic and didn’t have time to react.
The CHP reports that all of the bridges traffic warning lights were working properly when the accident occurred. An Illinois man, who was driving a Chevrolet Avalanche was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident when Soper’s big rig slammed into his pickup and pushing him off the road.
Due to the freight trucks speed, after the initial impact, it continued forward slamming into three other cars and injuring six others. The truck driver suffered minor injuries. This tragic incident is the latest in a series of catastrophic crashes on Highway 12. Reports indicate that nine people were killed in the area in 2007.

56-year-old Frederick Joseph Uhler died today as a result of a motorcycle accident in Bakersfield, California. Uhler, who was riding on his motorcycle was struck and killed by a car that ran a red light at the intersection of White Lane and Stine Road.
The driver of the car was 18-year-old, Britney Coats.
In a press release by the Bakersfield Police Department, the details of the accident were noted as follows:
The decedent was the helmeted operator of a motorcycle that was turning left on Stine Road from White Lane. A female operator of a truck failed to stop at a red light and struck the decedent at that intersection. He was taken to Kern Medical Center where he died shortly after from his injuries.
