Drunk Driver (DUI) Being Chased By Police Crashes Car

Yesterday, a motorist suspected of driving under the influence (DUI) was being pursued by police in North Hollywood when he crashed into the roadside. Authorities say motorist was injured and then hospitalized in the North Hollywood accident.

Los Angeles police initially spotted the motorist on a city road in North Hollywood, at a location near Lankersheim Boulevard and Saticoy Street, where he was driving recklessly. The Los Angeles police tried to stop the motorist, but he fled away. After maneuvering through several streets, the suspected DUI motorist eventually ended on San Diego freeway 405.

There, the motorist lost control of the vehicle, driving of the side of the road, crashing. After the crash, the motorist was taken to a local hospital to be treated for an apparent overdose.

Motorcycle Police Officer Injured In Freeway Crash

In SoCal, a motorcycle police officer traveling on I-605 was critically injured in a high speed freeway accident. At the time of the freeway accident, the officer was reportedly off duty, acting as a regular motorist on the freeway.

The freeway accident took place in Whitter on freeway I-605, close to Whitter Boulevard. At approximately 8 a.m., the police officer crashed into a truck, a big rig who was also headed north on the freeway. Naturally, the size and structure of the big rig had immense impact on the officer’s motorcycle when the two crashed, contributing the officer’s serious injuries.

After the motorcycle accident, the freeway was closed both on both sides, northbound and southbound. The officer was airlifted from the scene of the accident to USC medical center in a Los Angeles Fire Department helicopter.

Dean McDermott Injured In Motorcycle Accident, Taken To ICU

Dean McDermott, husband of Tori Spelling and Hollywood reality star on “Tori & Dean”, has landed himself in a Los Angeles intensive care unit after a serious motorcycle accident, one which was his second of this year.

McDermott, 43 years old, was recreation ally dirt bike riding when he was injured. The accident was apparently a single vehicle accident – McDermott fell from his bike and was injured seriously. McDermott sustained a punctured and collapsed lung, injuries which were severe enough to warrant ICU treatment. According to reports, McDermott’s lung injury will keep him hospitalized in ICU for several more days.

Earlier this year, McDermott was involved in another accident, which also was a motorcycle accident. In that instance, his shoulder was fractured.

Los Angeles Blue Line Train Kills Man

Only a week after Metrolink trains killed two people last Wednesday, another fatal train accident has happened, according to reports. In downtown Los Angeles, a Blue Line train ran over a man who was on the tracks, killing him.

The Blue Line train accident in LA took pace at Flower Street and Venice Boulevard on Wednesday night, on the northbound tracks. When the train ran the man over, he became trapped underneath.

When paramedics arrived, the man was already dead. According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, how the man ended up on the track is still unknown. Authorities suspect he must have either fell or jumped onto the tracks, accidentally or intentionally causing his own death.

The unidentified victim was around 50 years old, says authorities.
