A vehicle went up onto the center divider Friday morning at the 57 freeway and Birch Street. It caused major backup in the southband lanes, CHP officers said. The incident, which was reported at 7:22 Friday morning, involved two vehicles – a tan Toyota Camry and a silver Honda Civic, CHP said. The HOV lane of the southbound 57 had been blocked because the Civic went over the center divider. The fire department was called to the scene, where the female driver of the Civic informed them that she was alright.
