LAFD Battles Blaze At Strip Mall in West Los Angeles

Los Angeles Fire Department officials responded to a call on Santa Monica Boulevard in West Los Angeles, where a strip mall of business had just sparked ablaze. When the firefighters reached the incident, heavy smoke was rising from the two story building. The department then utilized force to enter, but flames had already extended across a substantial portion of the building. Fortunately, the firefighters were able to battle the fire to its origin, extinguishing it completely after 53 minutes.

Firefighters also evacuated two people in a building that could have been threatened by the flames. The cause of the fire remains unknown, but is undergoing investigation. Clearly, there was also some substantial property damage resulting from the strip mall fire.
