At least four people were exposed to chemical zinc chromate at a trucking plant in Bell on Thursday, said officials out of Los Angeles. The chemical is generally used for purposes of preventing rust. At around 5:50 am, a hazardous materials team reported to the site of the chemical exposure, Roadway Express, a trucking plant located at Eastern Avenue and Bandini Boulevard. The four people exposed to the chemical were taken to a local hospital for medical attention.
