Motorcycle Crash in Irvine Produces Serious Injuries

A traffic collision in Irvine has left one motorist seriously injured.  The accident involved a motorcycle and an automobile that collided at 1:15 p.m. on Walnut and Wisteria Avenues.  The motorcycle rider was hurt in the wreck and taken to a local area hospital.  The extent of his injuries were not known at press time.

Another motorcycle rider suffered severe injury in a early morning accident in Idyllwild as well. The man crashed his bike South of Pine Cove Road in Pine Cove at around 10:30 a.m. on State Route 243.  The driver was taken to the Desert Regional medical center in Palm Springs.

Motorcycle accidents can be especially heinous since a bike rider is several times more likely to die or be injured than the driver of a passenger car after a  collision.  Interestingly enough, it is often the car driver’s fault for refusing to yield the right of way to the motorcycle rider.  If you have been hurt in a car accident you could be entitled to compensation.  Contact our law offices today for a free consultation with one of our motorcycle accident and peronsal injury attorneys and learn what you can do to get the money you need for your injuries.

28-year-old Judy Ramos was struck and killed by a hit-and- run driver as she was attempting to cross the street. The devastating car accident happened around midnight Sunday evening on Vaughn, a side street near Glenoaks Boulevard.  Police were able to get a vague description of a vehicle that was described as a 4-door white automobile, but details are sketchy at present.

Ramos was taken to a local area hospital where she died the following day from her injuries.  Investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Drunk Driver Kills Woman on 605 Freeway

A suspected drunk driver struck and killed a 26-year-old Fontana woman on a local highway.  The deceased woman’s car had stalled in Whittier near Waddell Street on the 605 Freeway after she accidentally struck a guard rail on the right shoulder.  The stall occurred at 2:25 a.m. prompting the woman to switch places with a passenger in the back seat when the car was struck from behind by a 1991 Toyota Previa.

The woman, whose name has not been released, was taken to Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital in Whittier where she died.  The other two passengers suffered mild to moderate injuries and were taken to St. Francis Medical Center in Lynwood.  The driver of the Previa, 20-year-old Criselda Valderrama of Baldwin Park, said she did not notice the stalled car.  She was also taken to a local area hospital and subsequently arrested on suspicion of manslaughter while intoxicated.

More tragic than the youth of the women involved is the fact that the suspect who hit the stalled car was driving while drunk. This could mean that the accident was avoidable and especially senseless.  If she was indeed driving drunk, the deceased woman’s family could sue the offender for financial restitution.  If a drunk driver is behind your loved one’s death, you can file a wrongful death lawsuit.  Contact our legal team for a free case assessment and fight for your rights as well as your dearly departed memory.

Woman Found Dead in Machine at Food Processing Plant

An employee of Golden Gate Foods was found dead in a piece of automated equipment at the company’s plant.  The forty-year-old woman had apparently been dead for some time inside the building, which is located in the city of Industry.  Los Angeles Sheriff Detectives received the early morning call about the incident and arrived at 640 6th Avenue, the location of the Golden Gate Food facility, at 8 a.m.  Investigators believe that there was no real foul play involved and are trying to determine the  root cause of the accident itself.

Indeed, the question of what happened to the employee would be a very valid one.  Not only would it give answers to relatives seeking closure, it allows them to seek financial damages if the death was caused by negligence.  For example, was this particular piece of equipment known to be dangerous?  Did the plant fail to protect workers from potential harm by providing reasonable safeguards or teaching them how to use the machines properly?  If an investigation proves that the plant did not provide instruction or operate according to OSHA regulation the surviving family could file a wrongful death claim against them.

Have you lost a loved one in a similar tragic accident?  Then call our law offices and make an appointment for a free consultation with a wrongful death attorney.  Our trained legal team will provide you with the information you need to receive financial compensation and obtain justice for your lost family member.

Fire Started by Kids Playing with Matches

A fire that was reported in the Newport Beach/East Back Bay area just before 2:30 p.m.  this past Sunday afternoon was said to have started accidentally.  According to reports, the  blaze was apparently set by two juveniles who were playing with matches.  The careless duo’s   fire torched roughly 2-5 acres before  being contained by firefighters less than an hour later.

The two male juveniles responsible for the blaze left the area shortly before the fire started, but one of them returned to tell authorities that they had accidentally set the fire.  The boys were taken into custody and later release to their parents.

Thankfully, no one was hurt, but these scenarios can often times have tragic consequences. Not only could property be irreparably damaged, innocent victims, including the kids, may have been killed. Unfortunately, this is too often the case and families are left to pick up the pieces after a fire changes their lives forever.  If someone one else’s negligence has lead to a fire that caused the loss of life or property, don’t despair.  Call us today at 310.882.6810 for a free consultation and learn what you can do to obtain financial compensation needed to rebuild your life.

Fight Fighters Dampen Blaze Started by Car Fire

A car fire which originated in the Castaic Lake area near Grapevine shut down I-5’s northbound lanes and ignited a 15 acre brush fire.  The fire was reported and received by the California Highway Patrol at around 11:18 a.m. from the motorist that owned the burning vehicle.  The automobile was lodged in the freeway’s center divider  with flames and smoke pouring from the engine.

A rogue spark from the burning auto set neighboring brush aflame on the northbound side of I-5 near Lake Hughes Road and raged for some 15 to 20 acres.  Firefighters were able to quickly subdue the flames, putting the fire out in less than thirty-minutes.

Such an incident could have  resulted in tremendous property damage, or worse, people could have been injured or killed.  Once the catalyst of the car fire is found, the responsible party will be held accountable for any damage the fire itself  caused.    There are several possible culprits.  If the engine simply burst into spontaneous flame, it could be a manufacturer’s defect and the car owner could pursue a product liability claim.  If it was caused by something the driver did and someone’s valuable property was scorched or damaged, the property owner could file a claim under property damage laws.  If you have been involved in a similar incident you could be entitled to compensation.   Contact our knowledgeable legal team and set up a free consultation.  Don’t second guess, know your rights.  Call now.
