Man Chokes on Soda and Crashes into Tree

In what almost sounds like a News of the Weird clip, a man choked on a gulp of soda while driving, passed out and hit a tree.  The freak traffic accident occurred in San Juan Capistrano on the Ortega Highway just east of Antonia parkway around 10:15 a.m. The man had been driving a red compact Subaru when he took a sip from his drink and choked.  He then reportedly grew unconscious and drove off the roadway, crashing into a wire fence before striking the tree.

The unidentified man sustained an apparent broken collar bone cuts and scrapes and was taken to Mission Hospital.

Although this unfortunate solo car accident happened due to a freak occurrence, there are far too many that can be traced to faulty auto parts.  When this happens, the injured party or their family members can file a product liability lawsuit against the car’s manufacturer.  Such a lawsuit usually maintains that the vehicle’s maker showed negligence by putting an automobile in the road that was dangerously constructed.  If a car has malfunctioned and  caused you injury you can file a personal injury lawsuit under product liability laws. Call us today to learn more about your rights in this regard and see if you are entitled to financial compensation for your injuries.

Pit Bull Attack and Mauls 17-month-old

A 17-month-old child has his face mauled by a  pit bull Tuesday morning in Redondo.  According to reports the incident occurred shortly after the child pulled the pit’s tail.  The dog turned around, grabbed the child by the face and mauled it.

The dog attack took place at around 9 a.m. in the 1000 block of Palos Verdes Boulevard in the family’s home.  The mother immediately called the police who went to the home and found the child with severe dog bites to the face, puncture wounds and a nick in the eye. Paramedics also located bite wounds on the infant’s forehead and cheek.  The boy was taken to the County Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.  Authorities took  the animal, which was still agitated when they found him, into an animal retention center and are investigating the incident.  There was no word on the baby’s condition at press time.

Many breeds of dog are  more aggressive  than others but some could be bred to be especially  vicious.  If the above family finds that the individual who sold them the dog knew it was bad tempered they could file a personal injury lawsuit against the person.  People who are bitten by dogs they do not know can do the same.  Has an unprovoked dog attack culminated in horrific and crippling injury?  Then call us today for a free case review to obtain the compensation you need for medical costs related to your dog attack incident.

Long Beach Man killed in Crash on Crenshaw Blvd.

A crash on Crenshaw Boulevard ended in a fatality on Tuesday when a car struck a tree near the ExxonMobil refinery in Torrance.  The Impact of the car accident was so severe that it nearly split the vehicle in two.  The 34-year-old victim, Ector Louis Gonzales, was headed south on Crenshaw in his 2006 Nissan Sentra when he smashed into a median just north of Del Amo Boulevard.  The crash was reported at 2:55 p.m. and shut down Del Amo and 190th street as police tried to investigate the scene.

Most would consider this an open and shut case of an errant driver who met a sad end.  Family members of the deceased should look much deeper, as some solo car accidents could be caused by defective auto parts.  Something like the brakes failing or the steering wheel malfunctioning could have contributed to the man’s demise.  If this is found to be the case, relatives could sue the automaker via product liability and wrongful death lawsuit.

If a loved one died in an accidnet and a faulty car part was the culprit, you can do the same.  Call us today to find out what you can do after a car accident takes away your loved one.
