The Cajon Pass was the site of a massive pile up that involved as many as fifty cars and two big rigs, leaving 11 people injured. The chain reaction started when a couple of tractor trailers collided near Oak Hills Road in the northbound lanes during an early morning fog.  Reports also indicate that one of the trucks spilled diesel fuel. The fog itself is attributed to  the “June Gloom” weather phenomenon currently  occurring in San Bernardino.  June Gloom  refers to a mass accumulation of mist, drizzle and low clouds that travels  inland from oceanic marine layers.

Injuries from the  pileup ranged from moderate to minor and thankfully, there were no fatalities.

Sadly, most car accidents of this type are avoidable and can be attributed to driver error. Once fault is established, the injured motorists will be able to receive compensation for their injuries.  If you or a loved one has suffered injuries due to driver negligence, you may be entitled to monetary damages.
